About this parasha
Noah builds an ark that carries his family and the animals through the Flood, a dove brings back an olive leaf, God sets a rainbow in the clouds as a promise never to flood the world again, and the builders of the Tower of Babel are scattered.
The picture: The rainbow
The rainbow God sets in the clouds as a sign of the promise never to flood the world again (Genesis 9:12–17).
Why this picture?
The rainbow is the sign of God’s promise after the Flood, so it carries the whole story of the ark and ends it with hope, and it is the picture children connect most with Noah.
